An 82 year old man hit on me recently.
It makes me sad that the elderly are so often ignored. Also, in today’s postmodern feminist climate, many women carry an entitlement to preemptively punish men, and it’s NORMALIZED to view this as ‘creepy,’ or ‘gross.’
But a lot of times projecting onto men as ‘creeps,’ ‘jerks,’ or ‘old and gross’ comes from our ego making it way too personal! Since I’m currently invoking the Hermit archetype, I decided to play with this man’s energy at the transpersonal level!
(Note: It’s taken me years of cultivating a strong inner masculine + feminine mentorship, and I’m not by any means great at it, I still mess up…and this year I’m opening archetypally to God the Father, God the King, God the Lover…which is all important inner work if you want to play with these kind of technologies of polarity/ energetics!)
Of course, yes I felt my body start to tense when the old man started praising me, asking me if I was married. I could completely close off and signal for him to get TF away. Or, I could hold eye contact with him, go BEYOND my ego’s projections & judgements, open and emanate a devotional frequency..or respect, simply on the merit of his age and life experience as a human.
So I did! I breathed him in, and stayed open..even as I answered him ‘Ah..no I’m not married..I’m in between relationships.’…staying open, receptive. He followed up with ‘Ha well can I be your next guy?’
Staying open, I smiled saying ‘I’m flattered but No.’
Speaking ‘No’ while EMANATING love & receiving his energy as ‘adoration’ instead of demonizing it as ‘creepy’. (energetically allowing it to penetrate my field)
And in that moment something amazing happened. After I said no in that gentle unoffended way, he started to relax and get a little more serious, and then in a fatherly way he generously reached into his wallet and gave me some gift cards and money, before heading out.
There was nothing manipulative or ‘sugar baby’ about this. Just pure energetics.
I continue to be amazed at how much more influence women have when we drop our feminine ego/ masculine shell and play at the energetic level…letting it all be transpersonal!
We are ending the chapter on the hermit in MYTHOS and now moving onto the High Priestess! More to come…
