Four of Cups

The character rests in a very secure rooted place yet the roots/ branches are tangled and twisted. It’s spring, and new leaves are on the tree, ferns, & wildflowers have sprouted nearby. The character wears red, a symbol of power, and seems bored or unsatisfied.

Being too focused on power and status/ recognition (the red cape) can put us in a trance, and we miss the life occurring around us. The character has mistakenly associated these four cups with their power/ identity and so they take it very personal that the one has tipped over.

They think the sun is setting but in fact, it’s actually rising.

There is support and abundance close by. They have two beautiful cups standing right in front of them, and another special one being kept safe in the tree, almost as if it has even more worth. There is lush new growth all around.

Message:

You’re being called to work on your emotional foundation (cups). You’ve spent too long in the fire element (power/ the red cape) and now are recovering from burn-out or delusion.

Now it’s time to settle down and reflect on your soul’s needs. Imagine each of those cups as a portal for the Divine to send you a gift. Pray on what you want to fill those cups with!

Opportunities come in unexpected ways. Be open!

What is your ‘red cape?’ What ego desire keeps you hooked, or makes you take yourself way too seriously?

Observe without judgment when you’re being overly-sensitive, avoidant, unrealistic, or immature. See if you can pull back and see the situation with humor & love.

What things are going right in your life? What do you have that others maybe wish they did? In what ways are you pretty well off?

What in your life feels twisted/ tangled? Do you thrive in chaos or do you prefer things to be ordered? See if you can rest in whatever state you’re in and find something good about it.
